Backcountry excursion in Cortina to the Rocchette

At 2496 meters, the Rocchetta di Prendera is the highest of the group of four peaks comprising the Rocchette Ridge, a border between the territories of Cortina d'Ampezzo and San Vito di Cadore.

Information on the backcountry excursion in Cortina to the Rocchette

From Cortina, we drive to Campo di Sotto, then climb along a road in the forest taking you to Croda da Lago. Just above Pianozes Lake, on the left we find a big parking lot where we leave the car. We reach Malga Federe at 1816 meters either by snowmobile or on foot if you are in good shape.

The itinerary of the backcountry excursion in Cortina to the Rocchette progresses towards the Hunter's Hut on Col Degiarenei, gently climbing up to the foot of the Rocchette rocks.

Once we reach the shoulder, we continue along a ridge up to the cross on the summit at 2496 meters.

There is no precise trail for the descent and we can walk down following the trail we ascended.
