Information on the off-piste excursion in Val di Mezdì at the Sella
From Corvara we take the Sellaronda lift system, taking us to Arabba then to the Pordoi Pass. By cable car we go up to Sass Pordoi at 2950 meters, the most panoramic overlook in the Dolomites, offering a spectacular view of the Marmolada, Sasso Lungo, Monte Pelmo, the Tofane and the Antelao, a long stretch away.
From Rifugio Maria we ski down to Forcella Pordoi and we continue on a long diagonal reaching the foot of the rocky Piz Boè. Keeping a diagonal, we reach the Rifugio Boè where a steep couloir starts descending the long Val di Mezdì.
The valley is beautiful and not challenging, except in the final section, which is steep and narrow, until we catch up the slopes in Corvara.
