Dolomiti SkiRock suggests the following snowmobile excursions in Cortina:
Snowmobile excursion to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo
The snowmobile excursion to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo departs from Misurina near Lago d'Antorno and lasts about 30 minutes. To reach the Auronzo Lodge at an altitude of 2320 meters the trail follows the snowy local road ending up right under the great rocky faces of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
To the south, the view opens to the great amphitheater of the Sorapiss Mountain; looking to its right you can admire the Croda Rossa d'Ampezzo. The snowmobile excursion to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo can be combined with a hike, with or without snowshoes, or a ski mountaineering trip to admire these famous and beautiful Dolomite peaks.
On the way back, we suggest an exciting descent by sled available for rent directly at the start of the excursion.
Snowmobile Excursion to Monte Piana
The snowmobile excursion to the Rifugio Bosi departs from Misurina. The trip lasts approximately 25 minutes and follows the scenic winding road gently climbing to the shelter at an elevation of 2205 meters.
From the shelter, you can enjoy the panoramic view towards the small mountain range called Cadini di Misurina and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
You can combine the snowmobile excursion to Monte Piana with a hike or a simple lovely walk with snowshoes up to the top of the mountain, which saw fierce fighting during World War I.
Snowmobile Excursion to Malga Federa
The excursion taking you to Malga Federa, a panoramic site above the Ampezzo Valley and its most famous peaks, departs approximately 3 kilometers from Cortina in the Campo area.
The snowmobile ride takes approximately 20 minutes, along beautiful larches and fir trees, up to the shelter hut, which is well renowned for great cuisine and fine wines.
You can combine the snowmobile excursion with a hike with or without snowshoes, or ski mountaineering. We suggest to return by sled when descending to the valley.
