Gran Paradiso Mountaineering Excursion

In the middle of September Michele did Gran Paradiso mountaineering excursion with Iona. This mountain with 4061 mt. of altitude is located in the Western Alps, inside the borders of Gran Paradiso National Park.

Starting the Gran Paradiso mountaineering excursion from Rifugio Chabod at 2710 mt. of altitude, we crossed all the glacier at the bottom of the steep north side of the muntain, finding our way through a lot of deep crevasses.

On the final rocky ridge we climbed the shorts boulders with the crampons and fighting against a strong wind, finally we’ve reached the small summit.
