Ski mountaineering excursion on Monte Sief - Col di Lana

This enjoyable ski mountaineering excursion took us and our friend Franca to the top of Monte Sief, where the elevation is 2424 metres.

It is a highly interesting itinerary that stretches out on the massif of Col di Lana, a First World War battle scene, through sparse woods and wide slopes and reaches the crest of the mountain.

The excursion to Monte Sief starts from the magnificent castle of Andraz (Buchenstein castle, Andraz di Livinallongo del Col di Lana), which was built on a huge, lonely rock that is 700 metre high and dominates the whole surrounding area.
