Ski Mountaineering Week-end in Cortina

Giacomo spent a beautiful ski mountaineering week-end in Cortina in the company of a couple of nice Norwegian friends, both well trained skiers.

Three full days of ski mountaineering freeride climbs and runs, around Croda da Lago, Nuvolau, and Cadini in Misurina. The support point for the overnight stay was Malga Federa.

On the first day they climbed up to the Rocchetta di Ruoibes and the Rocchetta di Prendera with fabulous snow conditions.

On the second day, in thick fog, they climbed the Ra Ciadenes Couloir leading to the Lastoi di Formin; then they descended the beautiful ski slopes leading to the Gusella in Nuvolau. They climbed the Gusella and then returned to Croda da Lago and Malga Federa.

On the third day they moved to the Cadini di Misurina to climb the Forcella Pogoffa and the Forcella della Neve, where they found 40 centimeters of fresh snow and a chance for a great off-piste ski run.
