The idea of setting up a new mountaineering organisation in Cortina came in 2008 from the strong will and commitment of Mario Dibona Moro.

Born in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Mario is a Mountain Guide and a national mountaineering instructor with more than 25 years of experience on snow, ice and rocks behind him. He works with great passion and commitment, both on his native Italian Alps and on the highest mountain ranges all over the world.

Dolomiti SkiRock is a synthesis of the deep love for the Dolomites, the most beautiful mountains of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the passion for the main activities performed on the mountains: skiing and rock climbing.

The focus is not just on adventurous tours and unforgettable experiences but also on promoting the knowledge of the Alpine territory and its natural environment, as well as of the culture, traditions and way of thinking of the local people.

This responsible approach enables everyone to get to know the mountain environment with all its peculiar features, in order to wisely, safely and respectfully interact with it.

Unique and unforgettable experiences

We organize individual and group activities and excursions all year long, for adults as well as for children. Guiding our clients in every excursion, we give them all the necessary information and teach all the fundamental techniques that are essential in order to enjoy a unique and unforgettable mountain experience in complete safety.

Our team is entirely made up by Mountain Guides who are mountaineering and climbing professional instructors with certified competence, years of experience behind them and outstanding mountaineering curricula. All the Dolomiti SkiRock Mountain Guides speak English.

The school technical staff includes also Giuliana, a specialist in yoga and mountain wellness and Patrizia, our office manager.

Dolomiti Ski Rock headquarters is located in the town centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo, on the main street. It is a small but cozy mountaineers’ gathering spot, well equipped with books, guide books, topographic maps and 3D Dolomites maps at the complete disposal of anyone looking for information or willing to take part in one of the various activities offered.

It is also possible to rent ferrata kits, avalanche self-rescue equipment and snowshoes with poles.
